On October 15, 1989, Anthony L. Williams accepted the call as pastor of Galilee Baptist Church. He attended Tyler Junior College, the Smith County Baptist Association, and the East Texas Baptist Theological Seminary. He also makes himself available for continued education through attendance at the Church Development Conference, the Kingdom Agenda Pastors Conference, and the Original East Texas Baptist Association. He is married to Sis. Bobbie Williams and has two children and one granddaughter. Pastor Williams is a born-again, God-called, God-ordained, God-sent preacher of the Gospel of Christ. By the power of the Holy Spirit working through Pastor Williams, these years have been years of spiritual and physical growth for the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church.
Working alongside Pastor Williams in the ministry is his wife Sis. Bobbie Williams, a woman who exemplifies godly character and leadership. Her strong prayer life and faith in God reflect a life of devotion to God, to the principles of His word, to her family, and to meeting the needs of people. She is a teacher and a leader. God has blessed her and given her the gift of encouragement. Her own life exemplifies the victory she steadfastly proclaims to all who commit themselves to the Word of God.
Spiritually, Galilee has grown to a church with many ministries and opportunities to learn the Word of God through weekly Bible studies for Adults and Youth. His love and concern for the spiritual growth of our youth inspired a Children’s Church and Scholar’s Ministry. Pastor Williams, who has a strong belief in family, offers encouragement to families through counseling sessions; and, offers advice and assistance in child rearing, academics, and citizenship.
Pastor Williams is a man with a big heart and a deep abiding compassion for all people. He is a servant leader. He has dedicated his life to the Gospel Ministry, ministering to the needs of the total man. In spite of all the many wonderful works he has accomplished, he is most content when he is motivating people and ministering to their needs through the Word of God.
There is nothing more prominent than a man with a vision. There is nothing any greater than a visionary that allows himself to be led by God. Galilee is a church with a God fearing leader. Dedicated to excellence his passion to serve goes way beyond the traditional and usual protocol. Pastor Williams demonstrates the character of Christ in his everyday living and service. He exemplifies the true meaning of being a faithful servant of God. His ministry is built on Jesus Christ, the solid rock.
